Locked Away

Gate full of padlocks

In the spring of 2019, I was in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. While on a night tour, I came across a fence. The fence was barely visible. All I was able to see was hundreds of padlocks that were locked onto the fence. The tour guide explained to me that people buy a lock, write their name on it and lock it to the fence. Some people write their name with another’s name, showing how their connection to that person will be eternal.
